Comet Connections

This freshman seminar course is designed for all rising ninth grade students to acquire the necessary study and social skills for successful active engagement in contextual learning throughout their high school experience.

Students will also have a greater understanding of the procedures and workings of high school life, as well as a foundation in the skills necessary to complete homework and class work. The seminar seeks to have students understand how school and community are interrelated and how the student can see himself or herself as an integral part of both.

Projects and Trips

During the semester, students will participate in college tours, personality assessments, learning style inventories, the PSAT, in class learning projects, and the Reality Store...all designed to help them CONNECT the skills they are learning in their seminar class to their high school and life experience.
