Hello - welcome to my webpage!  This will be my 4th year teaching 9th and 10th grade English here at Asheboro High School.  I have a brief description of how my classes work and my syllabus for of each grade level below.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  I'm looking forward to a great semester!

A Little About Me
I am originally from Columbus, Ohio (Go BUCKEYES!) but have been "down south" for well over half my life.  I graduated from UNCG and still live in Greensboro with my sweet wife, Emily, our three awesome kids: Zoe (9), Silas (4), and Bella (2), my Boxer dog, Gibson, and our 15 year old cat, Daisy.

Two of my passions are teaching and playing music.  I am extremely lucky to have a second job as the contemporary worship music coordinator at First Lutheran Church in GSO.  Every week, I get to lead two incredible bands on guitar and vocals.  Some weeks, I get to play drums, bass, and even a little piano.

Some of my hobbies include writing and recording music, snowboarding, golf, basketball, ping-pong, poker and Fußball.

9th & 10th Grade English
We will study a wide variety of written texts (short stories, poetry, speeches, novels, plays), as well as movies, commercials, music, and other media throughout the semester.  We will learn to express our reflections and reactions (written and spoken) to literature and it's relationship to both personal experience and "the real-world" we live in today.  By the end of this class, we will be able to make an informed opinion and support our views with textual evidence.  We will think critically about topics that range from lighthearted to heart-wrenching and everything in between. I hope you are ready to learn, listen, share, and most importantly, GROW during our time together.
