Art Foundations 1 introduces design concepts and skill of working with various art media. The course includes experiences in drawing, painting, sculpture and collage. Included also is a broad, general introduction to the history and styles of artists.

Art Foundations 2 is intended to develop the creative individual abilities of the student who has been successful in Art 1. The course covers more complex techniques such as oil painting and an in-depth study of the artists and history of modern art.

Advanced art is an advanced course designed for the serious and highly motivated student. Emphasis is placed on creative development and unusual approaches to art problems. Skills learned in previous art courses will be modified and enhanced with independent projects, presentations and critiques.

Honors Studio Art is an advanced level art course for the career-minded student. Course content will include in-depth study of the processes, media, history and development of art. Students will demonstrate their understanding in various papers, portfolio work, and oral critiques as well as a master of technique and media manipulation. A portfolio will be developed in the course.
