COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

French I
This course gives students an elementary knowledge of vocabulary and grammar. Three tenses are studied: the present, the past, and the implied future. The student is able to converse in the language to a limited degree.
The course also includes the study of culture and people of francophone countries.

French II
French II is the most difficult year of language study. Considerable grammar structure and verb conjugations are included at this level, as well as vocabulary. There is still some time to highlight important cultural aspects.

French III & IV
These courses are for students who wish to broaden and extend their understanding of French. These courses will focus on the use of the fundamentals of grammar, culture, and literature learned in prerequisite courses. Literature, conversation, and readings will be employed in the course; students will be expected to develop a strong working knowledge of the French language.
