Welcome to Senior English!
English 12
This course is designed for students who wish to pursue a challenging college or technical preparatory track. The major emphasis of this course is the study of British literature and writing. Students will explore works of nonfiction and fiction through the textbook, young adult literature, and other supplemental texts. Students are required to read, comprehend, and anaylze literary works. Students will continue to build on writing skills developed over the past three years.
Honors English 12
This course is the final step in the Honors English curriculum at AHS. The main focus of the class is on the advanced study of British and young-adult literature. This course requires writing as well as research and critical thinking skills. Students enrolled in this course must be self-motivated and enjoy the challenge of an accelerated course of study.
Completion of required reading and correlating critical reviews is expected by the first day of class. Students may be asked to discuss, analyze, and reflect on the required reading through various assignments throughout the semester.
