English II, AVID, and English I
The focus of English II is writing. As students analyze and evaluate World Literature, the four major types of writing will be emphasized. Students will produce narrative, descriptive, expository, and argumentative types of writing as appropriate to their purpose and audience.
English II Syllabus
The mission of AVID is to ensure that ALL student will succee in rigorous curriculm, will coplete a rigorous college preparatory path, will enter mainstream activites of school. will increase their enrollment in four-year colleges, and will become educated and responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society.
AVID Syllabus
In English I, students will engage in comprehensive grammar and usage study. Students will learn to recognize types of literature and their contributing elements. Much of the course is designed to prepare students for the State's End-of Course test which serves as our final exam.
