The Nova Academy began its operation in January of 2009 to provide students, who have demonstrated a hardship, an alternative pathway towards graduation. During the first year of its operation, the Nova Academy had successfully graduated 8 out of the 12 students in the class of 2009. In 2010, the Nova Academy graduated 9 additional students for a total of 17 high school graduates.
