Welcome to Asheboro High School. My name is Walker Smith and I am a teacher and a coach here at AHS. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to teach your son or daughter. I am really looking forward to this school year and I anticipate having an enjoyable semester.

To achieve the goals, students will need to come prepared for class. They will need one 3 ring binder, paper, and a blue or black pen or pencil. Books will be provided on the first day of school and will be needed in class daily. Students will achieve these goals through a variety of learning styles. These styles will include but will not be limited to reading assignments, pop quizzes, homework, tests, group projects, etc. They will have a cumulative exam at the end of the semester that will encompass all the information that was covered during the semester. Also, they will be expected to act appropriately in class as to promote and enhance student learning. Attendance is also a very important part of class. A student cannot learn if they are not in class. Students must not miss more than 4 classes or they will not pass. Also, students must be on time. Remember that two tardies equals one absence.
Psychology and Civics goals based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
